The Art of Living Your Best Life Starting From Today

24 Feb

The Art of Living has been dealt with by commentators across space and time and by all cultures. However, the problem of self ownership does not emerge in isolation of external structures and cultural influences. This episode of the Orange Feather Podcast Series, explores some questions in relation to how we can embrace life, as a creative process, using the Friedrich Nietzsche Test and framed within an African Indigenous Knowledge perspective.

The phrase you only have one life is an important idea to grapple with: one of my kindred community members, always asks “whats new and different”? This is an excellent question, because there is always going to be something new and something different. Just like a running stream, to maintain emotional wellness, it is important that we keep things moving. Getting guidance to create a Daily Invocation is one way to maintain balance in your life. New Beginnings

1 Feb

Happy first of the month. The word February comes from the Roman word februum meaning purification and februa, referring to rituals used to be performed to clear the way for fertility of the land and of the people. February was seen as an important time to prepare for the coming of spring in Rome and other parts of the northern hemisphere. What is the date where you are? Marking time is not set in stone. There are many variations about the days, the months, the years, even the conception of day and night. This is just one of the topics to be covered in the Orange Feather Podcast Series. If you are interested in knowledge of self and the universe, to enhance your personal development and your spiritual growth, then you have found your kindred community.

The Full Moon signifies the completion of the lunar cycle. As above so below. January 2021 has been a challenge to many, who would usually be full of optimism. The Orange Feather Podcast Series will show you how. Listen and chill or become a VIP member to actively engage with interviewing opportunities.

What Are You Thinking?

4 Jan

In the West African Spiritual Practice of Ifa Orisa, as with many other examples across the continent, there are three important pillars of the faith: inner spirit, ancestral reverence and the spirits of nature. All three are regularly called upon to assist with decision making, when devotees and initiates consult the oracle with the assistance of trained priests and priestesses. In the West, this is the task of the personal development life coach, the design thinking content creator and various other journey guide services. However you first have to acknowledge that you need help. This is the first step in the process, of reflecting on where your mind wonders to, when left to its own devices.

The thoughts which are whirling around in your head, will lead you in one direction or the other. If you are ‘a wondering generality‘, you will choose pot luck. If on the other hand you are ‘a meaningful specific’, you will clear a path and start a journey with purpose. Which is it to be?

Thank You 2020 Halo New Earth #3

1 Jan

As an Independent Researcher into indigenous nature spirituality in general and African indigenous knowledge in particular, I am grateful for all that I continue to learn, from the gentle power of the natural world. If the past 12 months have taught us anything at all, it is the importance of self reflection. Developing your power of thought, is the most important exercise you could engage in at this time. Remember if you don’t use it, it will atrophy.

Whilst doing one of my time and space reconnaissance, it occurred to me that, its the simple things in life, that will help us to navigate to dry land, during this quantum hurricane season. And the safest place to be right now, is in the safety of your wise-mind. The free webinar is no longer available.

Do All Living Things Have A Soul?

17 Sep
key words
Animism is the belief that objects, places, and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence. Potentially, animism perceives all things—animals, plants, rocks, rivers, weather systems, human handiwork, and perhaps even words—as animated and alive. Source: wikipedia [accessed 16-9-20]
The Collective unconscious refers to structures of the unconscious mind which are shared among beings of the same species. It is a term coined by Carl Jung. Source: wikipedia [accessed 16-9-20]
In the West African Yoruba tradition (and others across the continent), in simple terms, humans, animals and plans are all considered to be ‘persons’. This is not a unique belief amongst the religions of African Spirituality: Japanese Shintoism and Shamanic practices globally, hold similar beliefs. Carl Jung would perhaps site this phenomenon, as what he called ‘the collective unconscious’. Perhaps Raul Dhal himself was a healer of the human psyche, just like many authors who intentionally use their words as medicine. What do you think? Continue Reading Here.

Who should you invite into your sanctuary also called your life?

1 Mar

Who should you invite into your sanctuary also called your life? For every member of your network who decides to seek negative attention, there will be those who wish you well. They will be there for you in the good times and when there are challenges. This is what we call unconditional love. And as Damien Marley reminds us, “unconditional love is rare” (check out ‘There For You‘ by Damien Marley).

Now let’s look at those negative attention seekers. These are the people in your network who take advantage, simply because they know you and have access to your time. It could be a regular premeditated habit or an occasional, ”lets put a spanner in the works attitude.” Some call this the crabs in the barrel mentality. Click on this link to continue reading
