A Pertinent Paradox: Lessons From The Spirits of Nature

19 Aug

If you live on earth this post will be of interest.

Along our continuing journey into nature spirituality, and after a challenging couple of years for one and all, we decided to have our annual gathering to honour the change of season, to remember our bloodline ancestors, and to treat ourselves to a coastal staycation on the south east coast. We were looking forward to the event and to inviting members of Blue Water Family to join us to conduct an ocean front ceremony. This was before the ancestors and the spirits of nature decided to show us another way of honouring them. For example, this happened in stages:

The first stage was the scorching heat, which although we welcomed for all the associated health benefits, we became aware that there were a number of water management challenges which have since been highlighted, here in the UK.

The second stage was the realization, that the South East coast line has been particularly negatively impacted, by water management issues and beach pollution, not just this year, but as an ongoing issue.

The third stage was that although the location we chose to honour Orisa Olokun during the September Equinox, is on the list of locations which have been highlighted by the UK Environmental Agencies for mismanagement of sewage disposal on the coast, we now have an opportunity to become aware of concerns, which are usually associated with developing countries, with limited resources. The UK is not a developing country. The resources are not limited. What is happening on our coastline here in the UK is avoidable. We are shocked and horrified at the level of mismanagement which is taking place.

The forth stage is that we have an opportunity to do something about this environmental disaster. When you know better you can do better! And to this end we contacted a number of like minded groups and will be participating in the the regular clean up initiatives across the country here in the UK.

The fifth stage is to invite you to join us on this endevour to protect our planet with the various clean up activities that are available. Click on the link to find out more. You will be directed to Beach Cleans: Million Mile Clean Up Campaign

About The Moon

21 Sep

Tracking The Phases of the Moon

When we see the Full Moon, we are witnessing the completion of a 27.3 day cycle. During this cycle, the Moon goes though several different Moon phases.

IMG_4748

The Full Moon Phase

During a Full Moon phase the Earth is aligned between the Moon and the Sun. So like a set of scales where Earth is in the middle, as the Sun descends in the west, the Moon ascends in the east.

IMG_4746

The New Moon Phase

During a New Moon phase, the Moon is positioned between the Earth and the Sun. This means that because Earth is no longer in the middle, the play of light between the Moon and the Sun, now prevents us from seeing the Moon. So the New Moon is invisible to us.

We are only able to see the Moon because of the sunlight illuminating each of the different phases along the 27 day lunar cycle.

The Gravitational Pull of the Earth

The Earth’s gravitational pull on the Moon, causes the sides to bulge and this in turn locks it into two revolving motions:

1)a rotational spin on its own axis which takes 27 days.

2)a revolving orbit around the earth which takes approximately 27.3 days.

You could say that the Moon is locked into position in a perpetual dance with the Earth and the two orbs in turn orbit the Sun over a 365.25 day cycle.

What is Synchronous Rotation?

As we have said, the Moon rotates on its own axis over a 27 day cycle. It also orbits the earth over a 27 day cycle: for this reason, the Moon appears not to be spinning, this phenomenon is called Synchronous Rotation.

Which Side Do We See?

The Moon spins on its axis such that the illuminated side is seen by all places on earth although at different angles.

IMG_4747

Like Earth, the Moon has a North and a South Pole. We only ever get to see the South Pole because we are looking up at the Moon whilst it is rotating on its axis. It does not flip over to give us a view of the North Pole. We therefore only ever see  a projection of the ‘near side’ and the ‘far side’ is always invisible to us.

Autumn 2016 At Stonehenge with Professor Kofi Kondwani

A Blue Water Family Review Of Stonehenge

During a recent Blue Water Family excursion to the Stonehenge monument, the following observations were made.

As many of you may be aware, there is much speculation about the purpose of the site and surrounding area. After our brief encounter, we can now add our own Blue Water Family review.

Undoubtedly there is something special about these stones. While we were there two things happened to convince us of this. Soon after cleansing our aura’s at the start of the visit, several birds descended on top of the stones and stayed there for several minutes before flying away again. This could of course be a regular occurrence, as it was approaching sunset. Nevertheless the timing was auspicious.

Secondly towards the end of the visit Professor Kofi Kondwani’s camera decided to display a moving blue dot which danced across his screen, whilst he was taking his final photographs. This he likened to a similar experience in Egypt.

In the final analysis we agreed that the stones could not, by any stretch of the imagination be compared to the great Pyramids at Giza in North East Africa or the one at Chichen Itza in Mexico South America. However we gave credence to the remote idea of a possible comparison of the site to the valley of the kings in Luxor. Why might this be the case? Well the number of burial mounds on the the approach to the stones and around the surrounding area, might be a clue.

TO GO OR NOT TO GO?
We would definitely recommend a visit to the Stonehenge Monument. As Professor Kofi Kondwani reminds us; what ever the reason was for the construction of the monument,

“… it [now] brings people together in peace and that is a good thing.”

When you do go, do feel free to submit your article to be included on the Blue Water Family review of ancient sites. A new feature to be included for all you globe trotters out there who like to share their stories.

You are welcome to leave a comment and tell us what you think.

We Would also like to take this opportunity to wish our readers Seasons Greetings and a Happy Autumn Equinox 2016. See you at our London gathering.

Welcome To Blue Water Family

Blue Water Family acknowledges each of the Equinox and Solstice transits during the year. We do this in order to remindΒ one and allΒ of the connection between Humanity and Nature.

The Dogon of Mali West Africa, describe the change of season based on the position in the heavens.

A Dogon High Priest seated holding his flail of authority

The Sun of the north refers to the trajectory of the sun’s path, reaching the highest point high in the sky. In the Uk this will give us the longest day of the year, during our Summer Season. The Sun of the middle refers to the trajectory of the sun’s path, reaching the middle position in the heavens.Β In the UK and everywhere else on earth, this will give us equal day and equal night time hours twice a year, in March and in September, Spring and Autumn respectively. The Sun of the South refers to the trajectory of the Sun’s path, making its shortest journey low in the heavens, from east to west giving us here in the UK the shortest day of the year, during our Winter Season.

In astronomy The zenith is the “highest” point on the celestial sphere.

In astronomy, the meridian is the great circle passing through the celestial poles, the zenith, and the nadir (point directly below the zenith) of an observer’s location.
