What is a Super Moon?
A Super Moon happens when there is a Full Moon or New Moon at the same time as the Moon’s closest approach to the Earth; which is called ‘Perigee’. At these times the earth and moon are the closest in distance that they can become. This event will takes place on the day before the Spring Equinox on Thursday 19th March 2015.

What is a Solar Eclipse?
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon is positioned between the sun and the earth and 98% of the sun’s light is blocked out by the moon. This event will take place on the morning of the Spring Equinox Friday 20th March 2015.

Blue Water Family has been acknowledging the phases of the moon and the cycles of the earth around our sun for several years now. And yes, this one is going to be extra special. In fact we view this as a solar eclipse super moon endorsement, of the work Blue Water Family is doing to remind humanity of its connection, to the natural environment and the movements taking place in the celestial sphere. This ties in very well with our focus as a study group on indigenous knowledge in general and African indigenous knowledge in particular. As the ancients would say “As Above So Below”.
In honour of this Celestial event we have created an animation sequence as an introduction to what we are about. Let us know what you think.
