Happy Perigee Full Moon January 2018

1 Jan
The First Full Moon of the year is a BIG one… Read on for more knowledge of self and the unvierse, with Blue Water Family.
Which Orisha?
Yemanja (or Yemoja) is the West African Yoruba deity who is associated with our natural satellite. Her domains are the surface of the Ocean and all phases of the moon. This makes perfect sense. Be reminded that the moon controls the rise and fall of the tides. See the animation diagram below and Read more here: http://home.hiwaay.net/~krcool/Astro/moon/moontides/
Distance to the earth?
The 2018 January Full Moon is said to be at perigee, meaning that this Full Moon phase will appear to be larger than usual, due to its proximity to the earth. The closer the moon comes towards us (perigee) the larger it appears. The further away it becomes (apogee) the smaller it appears.
